Liz leads on research and evaluation work for Shared Enterprise CIC. She has high level skills in both quantitative and qualitative research methods and has led evaluations of over 150 projects and programmes in the last 15 years, including for the Department for Education, Greater London Authority, Citizens Advice and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.
Liz began her working life in economic development where she developed a successful career which included four years as Director of Consultancy at Greater London Enterprise. But, wanting to take a more proactive approach to tackling disadvantage and inequality, Liz’s focus has shifted from managing area based economic development initiatives to promoting equalities within local economic development and across other fields including education, enterprise and the environment.
Liz is a great believer in lifelong learning. To update her research skills she completed a Master’s Degree in Research Methods and Statistics in 2010. She regularly participates in advanced research methods training and took part in the international Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences programme in 2013. She is currently tackling a PhD in Social Statistics and A level Spanish, both of which she hopes to complete by 2016. As well as learning, Liz teaches quantitative research methods at City University.
