Colin Gilfillan



Colin has worked in government, the private sector and the voluntary and community sector.  His key interest is in researching and developing fresh approaches to entrepreneurship, employment and community development as ways of tackling disadvantage and inequality.   Much of Colin’s recent work has focussed on business – especially small business - involvement in this agenda and on the intersection between businesses and the communities around them.


Colin has more than 25 years’ experience of funding advice and fundraising.   During this time he has also built up a wealth of experience about European programmes and projects, in this country and in other parts of the EU and beyond.


Colin is a Member of the Institute of Economic Development, the Institute of Fundraising, and the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.  His qualifications include:


• BA, University of Edinburgh

• Postgraduate Certificate in Enterprise, University of Stirling

• Postgraduate Certificate in Lifelong Learning, Thames Valley University
